Ever since I was a young child I dreamt about becoming a dog trainer. I have worked with many different breeds, I currently own a Australian Shepherd whom I am proud to say has qualified for Crufts for life. Koda and I are now training towards agility & Scent hurdles , I have many years of hands on experience, I have discovered that I have a innate talent for understanding and communicating with canines. I have recently undertook the scent hurdles UK instructor course, this is a very new and exciting dog sport that has come to the UK. I have also gained other qualifications including a diploma in dog behaviour, IMDT accredited course, and canine body language, level 3 emergency first aid at work, ProTraining pet first aid instructor. I am living the dream to help dogs and owners to have skills for modern life , and use modern training techniques for the dogs of the future.

Hi Bev, Have just re-homed a gorgeous SBT x. who is 4 yrs old. Wonderful nature with people & perfect indoors. Totally unused to being taken on a daily walk & is extremely strong, skittish & self determined when on lead & readily bites thru lead, & quickly attempts to do a 'Houdini' from his BullyBillows harness. I'm guessing the x in him is xl bully so need 121 to lead train him on loose lead & to not react to other dogs.

We would highly recommend Top Dog Training Academy. We have had help from both Kay and Bev in training our puppy. Working in groups and 1to1. What's really great is that they tailor the training to the dog and owners. They are kind and always help if we have questions. As part of the online groups they provide little training video clips which are good. Especially if you're busy and need creative ideas with training.
Me and my dog attend Good Manners Group. It’s a lovely group. Very friendly, informative, supportive and effective. Would definitely recommend.
I am so pleased we found Top Dog Training Academy! Bev & Kay are incredibly knowledgeable and professional and have gone above and beyond to help our daughter to train her dog, Oatie, in the agility classes. Their confidence has grown massively and they both have so much fun whilst learning the sport!
Highly recommend.
I’ve had dogs for 50 years so really didn’t think I could learn much from anyone but Kay & Bev are totally fantastic and my quite well behaved dog is now really well behaved and loves coming to their Weive and Agility classes. I can’t recommend them enough, the classes are friendly and great fun & my dog bounces out the car with excitement to attend 👍🏼
We (my cairn terrier Skye & me) started attending classes when he was approximately 7 months old. We attended the good manners & then the recall classes. We then progressed to doing the agility classes. I also do a weekly 1 to 1 with Bev. Skye is sometimes the class clown but has come on leaps & bounds in the past months with the support of his doggy mates & their humans. Bev & Kay are amazing . I would definitely recommend these classes . They benefit the dogs & the owners .
Milo has been to various classes over the past 2years
Puppy classes
Good manners
Agility
Scent hurdles
Together we have received lots of support and advice which I am certain has moulded him into the clever boy he is. I especially love the support network within the group, everyone is so supportive and encouraging. Milo loves his sessions with Top Dog and it’s great to watch his confidence grow.
Thoroughly recommend 👍🏻
Our Cocker spaniel Freddie really enjoys the agility classes with Bev and Kay at Top Dog. He has learnt so much and loves every minute of the classes.
Our journey with Top Dog Training Academy.
We began with a 1 to 1 with Bev last year with Kirra and Elsa . We practiced the calming exercises and noticed a great difference within a short period of time. Earlier this year we started the outdoor classes in Little Oakley, mainly with Elsa who, as a rescue, has issues, with confidence and anxiety. Elsa started with the Good Manners class and we both found the class useful and a great way to bond with each other and have fun at the same time. We are now learning Agility and Scent hurdles which have increased her confidence greatly. Elsa is a different dog at the field and we both class it as our Happy Place with wonderful and friendly owners and dogs. I have still working on her behaviour issues with some dogs out on walks, but I believe I am learning the skills to eventually overcome her anxieties.
Kirra, another rescue, is attending the Good Manners class weekly and is also enjoying herself and learning new skills.
I thoroughly recommend Top Dog Training Academy for bonding and getting the best out of your dog and yourself. Bev and Kay are dedicated qualified trainers who make such a difference and Elsa Kirra and myself wouldn't hesitate to recommend them.
Me and Toffee have been training with Top dog for about a year. When we started Toffee was nervous of the other dogs and she was worried about new environments. We initially started recall classes and have loved Top Dog so much that we now do Agility and scent hurdles. We often do 3 classes a week as we love it so much. Toffee has grown in confidence and is loved by all the other dogs. We have found a lovely doggie family where all the people are as dog mad as us. I would highly recommend Top Dogs to anyone. If you want to compete or just meet other dog mad people then go for it. You’ll soon be hooked.
My dog is a lockdown baby and therefore couldn’t attend any puppy classes. We started with Top Dog a year ago (he was almost 3) with recall classes and haven’t looked back since! My GSD currently does both agility and scent hurdles - they are mentally and physically stimulating for him and he absolutely loves both! He has also met lots of doggy friends, so the socialisation part of the training sessions is also great. Bev & Kay are experts in their field and I would recommend any of the training sessions to anyone.
We started training for Scent Hurdles last month and not only is it great fun it helps to focus my dog's energy. Both Kay and Bev are professional in all of the classes they offer.
I've been training with Top Dog for 18 months to help my dog achieve calmness. We do the Good Manners class and the improvement has been incredible! The patience shown towards both me and my dog is second to none. I have recommended Kay and Bev to all of my colleagues.
I am doing the pre agility group which is amazing not only is it great fun for myself and my dog I have learnt so much The trainers are brilliant and I have met some lovely people Can't recommend enough
Amazing and professional training with expert attention to detail and caring for every type of breed.
